Paige To Mage
Banner of Snowman: A banner in the shape of a snowman, stands 3 feet tall and 1 foot wide, is created within 20 feet of the user, but must be activated within 10 feet. When mana is channeled into the banner, its effective radius will be a dome shape with the banner at the center. It stretches a 5 foot radius and the center of the dome (its highest point) is eight feet in the air. This can be seen as a white construct of energy. Must actively channel mana into the banner for it to activate. Once active targets that pass through this AoE will feel three degrees colder and find their movement speed reduced by half. This will only work on the first two targets that enter the radius, and this cannot be turned off for allies. At mage, this effect increases to three targets. The banner durability is tin, scaling to iron at mage. If destroyed, it can be instantly recast at the cost of mana. Recast time may increase as the spell becomes more powerful. If the User moves 30 feet from the banner after activating it naturally dispels. This banner does not expire unless the caster exceeds a 20 foot distance from it, or if it is destroyed. In a passive state (not activated) it will not drain mana.
Mage To Expert Mage
Banner of Winter: A banner takes shape in the form of a snowflake, stands 3 feet tall, and is created within 20 feet of the user. Must be activated within 10 feet. Mana must be actively channeled into the barrier while selecting a target no farther than 10 feet away from the banner in any direction. Currently, this spell will only work one ONE target, rising to two targets at mage. The effect stretches out to 15 feet from the banner. Once active the banner creates a chill environment increasing the use of certain spells by helping forming ice crystals and water droplets in the air. When a target affected by this buff casts a spell made out of ice or water (not necessarily just aqua/cryo spells) they gain extra benefits to their abilities. If the spell cast is a construct made out of ice, its durability increases by ONE rank if said spell is the same rank as the caster (this scales to mage ONLY). If the spell is below the caster's rank, then it instantly raises to that. Ex: at mage, this spell would turn a mage ice spell into an adept mage durability spell. If used on a beginner mage construct, it would only increase to mage durability. If the spell uses a stream/puddle/specific placement of water, then small ice crystals will be added into its mixture. These crystals coat the water's surface like armor, adding tin (scaling to iron) projectiles atop it, which can be used for offense or defense depending on the context of the afflicted spell. This Banner durability is tin, scaling to iron at mage. If destroyed, 2 rotations must be passed before it can be summoned again. This banner costs mana to create, as well as additional mana anytime targets use an applicable spell with it. It will remain indefinitely until it is destroyed or the caster leaves its 20 foot range.
Upgrade: the Banner continues to increase to Expert Mage increasing number of targets from two at mage to four at expert mage. The banner’s AOE increases to 20 feet around the banner at mage. The banner’s durability as well as main effect scale from Iron to cobalt at Expert Mage. Upon reaching Expert mage the banner can be created within 40 feet of the user, and activated within 15 feet. If the user chooses to imbue the banner with an extra post cycle (I.e. summon the banner and if in range start charging mandate energy into the banner) of mana rather than instantly activating it, Charging for one rotation (cannot be used at all during this phase, but can be seen) allows you to create a pulse of magic that coats the entire area of the Banner’s law on the next post. This will freeze ALL mundane water and non aquamancy water based spells of this ability’s rank or lower in the area, causing them to stop moving and act as mundane ice until the effect ends (only lasts for a single rotation). Water spells made by an aquamancer will only be stopped if they are a rank lower than this spell (scales to EM). This also causes a sudden drop in temperature. The drop in temperature would be enough to kill a regular human over the course of an hour or so, but only poses a minor threat considering it lasts a very short period of time. After which the effect fades and the normal effects take place. The normal effects do not take effect during this time. This effect increases to two targets at expert mage.
Banner of Great Glacier: A banner takes shape in the form of a great glacier, this banner is 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. The banner can be created within 30 feet, but must be activated within 10 feet by continuously channeling mana. Once activated the AOE stretches 15 feet from the banner, 8 feet from the top of the banner being the highest point and takes the shape of a dome. The banner specifically targets defensive spells within the AOE,(anything with the intent to defend), and creates a hardened sheet of ice and snow. While this stops movement of the barrier itself, it gives the barrier an offensive property, giving it a layer of spikes equal to the caster’s rank (mage scaling to expert mage). If the barrier is moveable, it will be frozen in place with the ice active. If the user of the barrier is equal to or above the rank of this spell, they can force-move their barrier to destroy the spikes and free up their construct. The sheet of ice/spikes can only be created on one side of any of the three barriers. The spikes are no larger than a foot long and half a foot wide, one for every two feet of surface area on the ground they cover. Caster must choose which targets to add the ice to, meaning that the speed at which this can be done is limited by human cognition. The Banner itself is Iron durability scaling to Expert Mage. Once created this banner can remain indefinitely until destroyed or the user moves leaves it’s 30 feet range.
Banner of the Big Chill: A banner takes the shape of a weird otherworldly creature. This banner is 3 foot tall, and one foot wide. The banner itself is of Iron durability (scaling to cobalt at expert mage) The banner can be created within 30 feet, but must be activated within 10 feet by actively channeling mana into the banner. (scales from 10 feet to 15 feet by expert mage)Once activated the AOE stretches 15 feet from the banner, 8 feet from the top of the banner being the highest point and takes the shape of a dome. The banner creates an area of pure cold plunging the temperatures down to 0 degrees C, (without any opposing force acting to negative this effect). This lows the effectiveness of heat based spells of any kind by disrupting the exothermic reactions of the energy. Although this effect does not work as effectively on actual pyromancy. Equally ranked Heat/flame based spells NOT created by Pyromancy will lose one tier of durability while under the effect of this banner. For every extra rank they are below this spell, an additional tier is removed. Pyromancy spells will only be affected if they are a rank below this spell. (mage scaling to expert mage). Regardless if the spell is Pyromancy or not, it will become slowed by half while under the effect of the banner. This applies to any moving spells, such as constructs, projectiles, or auras. Once created this banner can remain indefinitely until destroyed or the user moves leaves it’s 30 feet range. If destroyed it can not be recast for 2 post cycles.
Banner of Barrier: This spell is an augmentation that takes the shape of a shield Icon placed on another banner. This Augmentation creates a dome around the AOE of another barrier that is already active. The augmentation has no effective durability without being active. While within the activation range of any previously created banner of equal or lesser rank (scales to EM, meaning high mage banners cannot work with this spell until upgrade) the caster may create an augmentation to it, creating a shield sigil across it. This covers the entire effect radius (dome/orb/cone/etc. Whatever radius shape the aforementioned spell is) with an extra layer of mana. While this will not stop people from entering or exiting the dome, it will defend against physical and energy based projectiles that attempt to pass through it. (mage scaling to EM) If destroyed it can not be recreated for two post rotations. In addition to the dome, the banner construct itself is also raised to iron-cobalt if it already isn’t. Drains mana continuously while active. Once created the banner can remain indefinitely, until destroyed or the caster leaves the 30 foot range. The banner requires active channeling to be active.
Expert Mage to High Mage
Banner of The Quick Draw: A banner that takes the shape of a bow and quiver. This Banner is 3 foot tall and 2 feet wide. The banner itself is of cobalt durability scaling to titanium at High Mage. The banner can be created within 30 feet, but must be activated within 15 feet by actively channeling mana. When the banner is activated the AOE stretches 20 feet from the banner, 8 feet from the top of the banner being the highest point and takes the shape of a dome. The banner speeds up mana flow for anyone inside the AOE, this causes casting times for spells casted inside to have a reduced casting time. This effect can only target three targets at once and causes any lower rank spells to be shortened by one post cycle per rank below the rank of this spell to a maximum of 2 post cycles at expert mage, and 3 post cycles at high mage. Any mage under this effect however will not be able to compensate for the speed of mana flowing and will end up using a portional amount of mana to the time reduced by the banner. (i.e. for each post cycle reduced a mage ends up spending more mana for the time reduction. Starting at 1 post cycle reduced, it's 1.5x,then at 2 post cycles reduced it’s 2.5x, and 3.5x for the maximum effect just to cast the single spell.) This spell takes place only on people Merelda focuses on, leaving the time it activates on each person up to the speed of human cognitive ability. Once created this banner can remain indefinite, until the caster leaves a 30 foot radius or is destroyed. In a passive state it will not drain mana.

Upgrade: Scales from EM to High mage with durability and spell limitation. The barrier now can work to seal OUT hostile individuals if Merelda recognizes the individual as such. Physical and energy attacks that are no projectiles can also be blocked this way having Merelda focus in the place that are coming through.

Upgrade: This spell scales from EM to HM with durability and spell limitation The temperatures now drop down to -5 degrees celsius. This will cause such a change in pressure it will begin to affect how other spells behave inside the AOE. This causes the air pressure, and resulting environment to hinder not only heat based spells, but starting to freeze the water that enters the AOE reducing the range of the water spell and the durability of it at the same rate as pyromancy. If someone tries to cast a water based spell a rank lower than this spell INSIDE the AOE it will become frozen in place.
